Why Buildings Collapse
There is a T.V series on at present called ' Why Buildings Collapse'. There is also a book to accompany it. The title supposedly says it all. It's one of those programmes that was made to feed the Millennium Imagination. There is a whole rash of these types of disaster programmes on here at the moment. The issues and fears thrown up by the Millennium might be superficially interesting but do they really address Why things collapse, maybe only how they collapse? However the case studies used often provide telling political imagery.
