Frontiers

The functioning of frontiers on the European landmass was rendered visible to me through a train journey. A Brazilian woman had her journey from Vienna to Budapest delayed by a day as she was thrown off the train in Slovakia for not having the appropriate visa for that country. She had to organise to stay the night in Bratislava to purchase the necessary visa so she could leave that country and recommence her journey.
